Mavis Emery Waller Hound (Unknown Type) Puppy Female in Bellingham, Washington

My story
Calling all brindle lovers!

This is precious Mavis and she’s the sweetest puppy! She is full of life and love and ready for their chance at a forever home!

Sweet and gentle ... two perfect words that describe this girl perfectly! This beautiful brindle hound/lab mix is 4 months old and weighs about 22 lbs!

This girl is so affectionate! She enjoys

quality time with her people,

playing, snuggling, or just hanging out. She is truly a professional cuddler! She wouldn't mind being an only dog in the home, stealing all the hugs and kisses, but would also do well with low to medium energy dogs. She loves chasing the resident female lab mix around the back yard! They have become big pals! She is also very kid friendly and loves human companionship!

Mavis seems to love being inside and outside equally, and doesn't mind the colder weather Texas has had. Exploring the backyard and its foliage is one of her favorite past times. She has started leash training in the neighborhood and is getting better every day! She loves to frolic along side her foster sister!
Mavis hasn't been out of the shelter long, and is learning appropriate behaviors for in the home. Mavis is doing great on potty training and is having fewer and fewer accidents. The best thing about Mavis, besides being adorable, is that she sleeps through the night soundly! She can sleep up to 9 hours in her crate with zero accidents! That’s an anomaly for a puppy!

Mavis is not a huge fan of baths while being scrubbed, but afterwards, she rolls around on her back in soft blankets and is so content. She loves cow ears, rubber chew toys, and soft stuffing less squeaky toys. She also LOVES shoes so make sure to put those in a safe place!
If you are looking for a friendly, lovable pup, don't hesitant to apply for Mavis.

As a rescue and a puppy they will need lots of support and encouragement in becoming the best they can be. Training and basic manners will need to be taught and consistently worked on.

Based on her current size and the size of their mom, we estimate her

to be a medium-large size when fully grown and to need regular exercise.

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

Three Little Pitties Rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 10,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes.
